A group from CEZA was sent to Malaysia on August 25-28, 2018 for a business mission. The delegates were composed of Atty. Joy Alameda (Acting Corporate Secretary), Agatta Arce (Account Executive), Lanie Arilla (Senior Assistant to the Corporate Secretary), Novelyn Cruz (Financial Planning Specialist), Christine Quezon (Private Secretary B) and Luke Matthew de Leon (Intern).
Delegates from the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) went on a business mission on August 25-28, 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The four-day trip was filled with various enriching activities for familiarization and promotions.
On September 26, 2018, CEZA was a participant of the Blocfest 2018 held at Shangri-La, Kuala Lumpur. Blocfest 2018 was a blockchain event intended to gather major corporate and industry-based players of Southeast Asia to shape the future of the region’s booming blockchain industry. The CEZA team joined as delegates of the conference and also rode on with NEM’s booth to participate as an exhibitor. Atty. Joy Alameda, Acting CEZA Corporate Board Secretary, also delivered a keynote speech and presented the financial technology (fintech) regulatory environment of the Philippines and with CEZA. The event became a venue for CEZA to learn and connect with potential investors seeking business expansion at the Cagayan Freeport. She was also interviewed by FOMO media, a channel that features news and events related to fintech, and discussed the initiatives of CEZA to develop a fintech ecosystem at the CSEZFP.
On September 27, 2018, CEZA attended another fintech event, which was the Blockchain Solutions Asia 2018 held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The event aimed to provide a better understanding of the impact of Blockchain Revolution and its technological advances and operating process on their business models. With NEM’s assistance, CEZA was able to conduct a meeting with a potential investor in port operations and management.
The business mission was concluded with a Networking Dinner hosted by NEM at NEM Blockchain Center, Kuala Lumpur. The event was attended by identified companies/participants from the Blockchain Solutions Asia 2018 and aimed at business-matching.
