The Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) hosted a Reproductive Health Training for its personnel on June 19-20, 2018 in Pasig City and on August 07-08, 2018 in Sta. Ana, Cagayan. Among the topics discussed included the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10354) and Reproductive Gender Roles and Stereotyping. The sessions for Pasig City were conducted by Dr. Blesshe Querijero, PhD, CEZA, and Leoncia Garcia, MBA, while the sessions for Cagayan were conducted by Ma. Rachel Miguel.
CEZA recognizes that understanding our reproductive system is a significant factor in responsible parenthood and reproductive health, and also acknowledges its direct correlation with work productivity. Furthermore, CEZA also acknowledges that reproductive health is a concern not just for women who go through pregnancy and childbirth, but also for men who are also susceptible to reproductive health issues and also part of the decision-making in family planning. Both men and women should be informed about acceptable methods of birth control, reproductive health care services, medicine options, and family planning, etc.
Said training is in line with its approved 2018 Gender and Development (GAD) Plan for Organization-Focused Activities and is intended to educate its personnel on the anatomy and physiology of the bodies, reproductive health issues, appropriate health care services and their impact in shaping gender roles and stereotyping.
■CEZA conducts Strategic Performance Management System Training and Workshop
The Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA), in partnership with the Civil Service Commission Regional Office 2 (CSC RO2), conducted a Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS) Training and Workshop for CEZA regular personnel on June 27-28, 2018 at Villa Saturnina, Rapuli, Sta. Ana, Cagayan. The workshop and training session was led by Mr. Elpidio S. Bunagan, Jr. from CSC RO2.
The SPMS aims to concretize the linkage of organizational performance with the Philippine Development Plan (PDP), Agency Strategic Plan and Organizational Performance Indicator Framework (OPIF). It is also one of CEZA’s key instruments in its pursuit of operational excellence and administrative efficiency by ensuring organizational and individual effectiveness.
The training and workshop session was able to update, align and attune the CEZA personnel with the goals of the organization, by linking together each individual, section and department for the accomplishment of the Authority’s goals. This complements the Results-Based Performance Management System, which is implemented by the Office of the President and is linked to the Performance-Based Incentive System (PBIS).
