SANTA ANA, Cagayan: To make the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority a bustling ecozone and freeport, locators finding a place to establish their business are welcome to invest in CEZA.
This was the offer of CEZA Secretary Katrina Ponce Enrile to other locators that cannot be accommodated in other ecozones and freeports in the country.
As the new administrator and chief executive officer, Ponce Enrile said she wants to make CEZA an area of expansion for these locators who are looking for an area where to invest and establish their businesses.
“This is one of our plans as a way to achieve the desire of the Cagayan Special Economic Zone and Free Port or CSEZFP to become a bustling freeport,” she said.
Ponce said Subic and Clark are an example of ecozones with a stable status and are already built-up ecozones, adding it is only right to encourage locators to turn their attention to northeastern Cagayan or Santa Ana.
She said CEZA will offer incentives for incoming locators or investors.
“In this way, locators will have a reason to establish in our area,” Ponce Enrile said.
“CEZA also needs to work on developing and beautifying the image of the Cagayan ecozone through the intensive promotion of its potential,” added Ponce Enrile.
She also noted that what she wants to achieve is the alignment of CSEZFP with other freeports in the world and should benchmark on international standards.
