The Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) drew the attention and interest of attendees and potential investors in the gaming and digital industries during the Sigma Asia/AIBC Summit held on July 20-21 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Pasay City through its participation as an exhibitor and a keynote speaker.
The two-day event brought together a vast network of suppliers, operators and affiliates of the gaming and digital industries from both the East and the West sides of the globe. The two-floor exhibit allowed 170 exhibitors to showcase their companies and offered an opportunity for CEZA to explore and connect with a host of business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) brands. CEZA was particularly interested to network with software checkers, e-casino streaming services, and other platform providers from around the globe to check and compare the products and services that could be adopted by this Authority to further enhance and secure the facilities and systems supporting the operations of its gaming and fintech locators, and of itself as a gaming authority.
As an exhibitor itself, CEZA was also given an opportunity to be showcased as a gaming and financial technology (fintech) jurisdiction option. CEZA specifically caught the attention of companies from other gaming jurisdictions such as Australia, Macedonia, China, Armania, Malta and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), among others, that explored their options as gaming operators and/or service providers.
The event also provided a platform for informative and insightful panel presentations and discussions hosted by industry experts and authorities. These allowed CEZA to be abreast with the current industry scenario, policies and other significant information. With CEZA being recognized as one of the known and established gaming jurisdictions in Asia, Sec. Katrina Ponce Enrile, the CEZA Head, was also invited as a keynote speaker. This provided an opportunity for CEZA to be introduced to the participants and to share relevant information that could enlighten the industry key players and other attendees with what CEZA could offer them.
In her speech, Sec. Enrile gave a comprehensive presentation of CEZA and what it could offer as a gaming jurisdiction. Her discussion showcased CEZA as an ideal investment option, supplemented by its strategic geographical position in the global setting, modern infrastructure and support facilities that can cater to a vast array of industries, and a clear set of policies and systems that facilitate, protect, and regulate the operations for varied industries, including gaming and fintech. Her discussion also highlighted CEZA’s capability to regulate industries like gaming and fintech, and continued efforts to keep up with the changes of time.
In a side interview, CEZA Deputy Administrator Perla Tumaliuan boasted of CEZA’s track record as a pioneer i-gaming regulator. She shared her confidence of this Authority’s capability to oversee the operations of legitimate online gaming companies under its jurisdiction. She added that, under Sec. Enrile’s leadership and direction, CEZA will surely regain its place once again in the gaming industry, and participation to events like this will take this Authority one step closer to this goal.
Attended by over 25,000 professionals, businesspeople and key players of the gaming and fintech industries, the event was concluded with an accomplished mission of reaching thousands of people being [re]introduced to CEZA. #SaCEZAKabahagiKa #InvestWithCEZA #AlagangKatrina #AlagangPerla
