TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) – – At least 10 major infrastructure projects that are currently implemented by the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) are targeted to be inaugurated in September this year by no less than President Rodrigo Duterte, an official said.
Sec. Raul L. Lambino, CEZA chief executive officer, on his recent visit at the Cagayan Economic Zone and Freeport in Santa Ana town, personally inspected the Port Irene development projects to include construction of Warehouses and Offices, Roads and Bridges, Port Irene Retrofitting and Rehabilitation, and Port Irene Facility improvement.
He also checked the ongoing projects in Port San Vicente Causeway and Wharf, the construction of CEZA Corporate and Commercial Centers, CEZA Global City, Smart City, and Alpha Palawig Mixed Used Development projects.
Amid pandemic, the construction of the different projects of CEZA were continuously implemented but assured that proper health protocols were in place.
Once completed, the PHP155 million wharf in San Vicente village, will be the take-off point to tourism destinations in the Cagayan Freeport, such as Palaui Island.
Lambino, who is concurrently the Presidential Adviser for Northern Luzon, also conducted aerial inspections of the ongoing construction of CEZA Sanitary Landfill and the CEZA 3-hole Golf Course and Driving Range.
The four-unit warehouse and warehouse offices costs PHP301 million located at Port Irene in Casambalangan village.
Lambino expressed his thanks to all the officers and personnel of CEZA for their untiring efforts, teamwork and cooperation to achieve all the developments and transformations that they envisioned for CEZA.
During the visit, Lambino was joined by Santa Ana Mayor Nelson P. Robinion, Cagayan Third District Rep. Joseph ‘Jojo’ Lara, CEZA Board of Director Joseph D. Lara II, Rep. Alfredo B. Benitez, a group of investors led by Mr. Ramon Garcia Jr. and CEZA engineers and officials.
On the other hand, the secretary also led blessing of the newly-acquired vehicles to include ambulance, fire truck, low-bed truck, garbage compactor and pick-up. (MDCT/PIA Cagayan/With reports from CEZA)
