The Cagayan North International Airport (CNIA) has launched its first international flight from Macau on March 23, 2018. CEZA has received a Temporary Aerodrome Certificate from the Civil Aviation of the Philippines (CAAP) after the facilities on its runway were upgraded, its precision approach path indicator was installed, and obstruction along the runway has been cleared. The first domestic flight of Cebu Pacific to the Lallo town airport will follow in April. With a robust upgrade from its previous capacity, the CNIA can now operate international flights and hopes to accommodate even bigger aircrafts like Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 soon.
