1st CEZA Sports Festival

Date: 19-21 Feb 2019 (Tues to Thurs)

Venue: Sta. Ana Gymnasium, Sta. Ana, Cagayan

Background:

The 1st CEZA Sports Festival will consist of a basketball tournament for men’s division and of a volleyball tournament for women’s division. At least five teams will compete against each other for the basketball tournament. These teams will comprise of CEZA (1 team), Sta. Ana LGU (1 team) and CEZA locators (3 teams). About three teams will compete against each other for the volleyball tournament. These teams will comprise of CEZA (2 teams) and Sta. Ana LGU (1 team). The friendly competitions aim to foster synergy and camaraderie among CEZA, LGU and the locators. The event will be a prelude to a bigger sport gathering that will be initiated again by CEZA this coming summer season.

Coastal Clean-Up and Tree Planting

Date: 23 Feb 2019 (Sat), 06:00 AM.

Venue: Coastal Barangays (Casambalangan, Rapuli, Diora Zinungan to San Vicente), Sta. Ana, Cagayan

Background:

A coastal clean-up drive will be conducted along the coastal shorelines of barangays Casambalangan, Rapuli, Diora Zinungan, Centro, Palawig, Tangatan, Sta. Cruz and San Vicente. This will simultaneously be conducted with the tree-planting activity at the Sanitary Landfill, Diora Zinungan. These endeavors will be participated by government institutions like the Philippine Navy, Philippine National Police – Maritime, Philippine Army, schools like the Sta. Ana Fishery National High School, Casambalangan National High School and St. Anthony College, barangays councils and constituents of the eight coastal communities, and the Sta. Ana LGU. These endeavors aim to promote and enhance CEZA’s advocacy on environmental protection and conservation.

Liturgical Mass

Background:

CEZA will also host a thanksgiving mass that will be officiated by Fr. Rolie G. Pimentero, OFM, Parish Priest of St. Anthony De Padua Parish, Sta. Ana, Cagayan.

• Motorcade

Date: 24 Feb 2019 (Sun)

Venue: Sta. Ana Town Vicinity

Background:

CEZA personnel will parade around the vicinity of Sta. Ana to acclaim the celebration of CEZA’s 24th anniversary.

Medical, Dental and Optical Mission, Free Haircut

Date: 24 Feb 2019 (Sun), 08:30 A.M.

Venue: Centro, Brgy. Hall, Sta. Ana, Cagayan

Background:

As a way of showing its gratitude and conveying its support to the community, CEZA has also included a list of social services that can be availed by the residents of its jurisdiction. The free medical, dental and optical services intend to provide basic health, dental and optical services on a first-come, first served basis. There will also be haircut services on the same event.

Job Fair

Date: 24 Feb 2019 (Sun)

Venue: CEZA Complex, Centro, Sta. Ana, Cagayan

Background:

CEZA will also conduct a job fair as part of its community-support program on its anniversary. Around 100 positions are intended to be filled in on this job fair. Job openings include card dealers, card shufflers and housekeeping jobs, among others. All interested applicants are advised to prepare and bring their resumé and credentials at the job fair. This activity is also consistent to CEZA’s commitment to give support to its locators by ensuring a continued supply of labor pool, as well as to help assuage the high unemployment rate in the Philippines, particularly within the immediate surroundings of the Cagayan Special Economic Zone and Freeport.

CEZA Awards Night

Background:

CEZA would also like to acknowledge its partners that have made impacts to CEZA’s fulfilment of its mandate. This Authority has set criteria for nomination and evaluation of various awards. Among the people and groups that will be recognized include CEZA-assisted organized groups, locators and personnel.

1st CEZA Culinary Challenge

Date: 25 Feb 2019 (Mon)

Venue: Sta. Ana Gymnasium, Sta. Ana, Cagayan

Background:

This event will be another first-of-its-kind in the Province that has been introduced and conceptualized by no other than the CEZA Administrator and CEO, Sec. Raul Lambino, himself. It will be a culinary competition that will challenge the distinct dishes of the 28 municipalities and 1 city of the Cagayan Province. The activity is consistent to one of CEZA’s priority objectives, which it to promote tourism, by highlighting the distinctive cuisine of the Province, not only to the Filipinos but to global audience.

Groundbreaking and Inspection of Ongoing CEZA Projects

Date: 25 Feb 2019 (Mon)

Venue: Sta. Ana Vicinity, Cagayan

Background:

Consistent to President Rodrigo Duterte’s Build-Build-Build Program, CEZA has set big ticket projects that are all targeted to bring economic boom in the area.  As part of its anniversary celebration, CEZA will be inspecting and holding groundbreaking ceremonies for a number of projects, which include the following:

a. Port San Vicente

Inspection of the project: Rehabilitation and expansion of Port San Vicente Wharf and Causeway

Total Project Cost: ₱155 million

Target Date: CY 2019

The San Vicente Port is the take-off point to tourism destinations in the Cagayan Freeport, such as Palaui Island. Small boats are currently being utilized to ferry tourists from the said Port to Palaui Island and other tourist areas in the zone. This Project aims to accommodate leisure fishing boats, sail boats and luxury yachts, and further advance the status of the Cagayan Freeport as a premier game fishing destination.

b. Port Irene

Groundbreaking/ inspection of additional warehouses

Total Project Cost: ₱301 million

Target Date: CY 2019

Port Irene is envisioned to become the premier international port of Northern Philippines, capable of accommodating panamax and cape-sized vessels catering to the Asia-Pacific Region markets. It will be developed as a major international seaport that will serve as a gateway for exports and imports from neighboring East Asian countries to the U.S. West Coast, and vice versa.

The development undertaking for Port Irene includes the construction of four units of warehouses with offices within the one-hectare property for Phase 1, and can be expandable up to three hectares.

c. Sanitary Landfill

Inspection of the ongoing project

Total Project Cost: ₱17 million

Target Date: CY 2019

To address the current waste disposal requirements of the Cagayan Freeport, CEZA has initially developed a 2- hectare Sanitary Landfill for Phase I, expandable up to 10 hectares. CEZA recognizes that this initial endeavor will not be sufficient once the operations in the Freeport will reach its full potential. As such, much needs to be done for the liquid and solid waste management of the area and these are now being studied and open for investment from the private sector.

d. Corporate and Commercial Center

Site Inspection and Groundbreaking

Total Project Cost: ₱300 million (Phase 1)

Target Date: CY 2019-2020

The CEZA Corporate and Commercial Center will be situated on the western portion, along the shore, within the 11.40-hectare identified land in Sitio Punti, Barangay Rapuli, Sta. Ana, Cagayan. The key details of the preliminary architectural design of the Project include (a) Institutional Areas, (b) Retail Areas, (c) Conference Hall, (d) Dining Hall/ Restaurant, (e) Office Spaces, (f) CEZA Corporate Center Services, (g) Public Lobby and (h) Parking Spaces.

e. City Polaris (Mapurao)

Groundbreaking/inspection

Total Project Cost: US$4.5 billion

Target Date: CY 2019-2022

The CEZA Township Project includes a 2013-hectare property with an ocean-view and open for mixed-use development. It shall have business spaces for IT-BPO companies, commercial and residential areas, health, wellness, leisure and recreational facilities.

f. City Polaris (Puzo Robo)

Groundbreaking/inspection

Total Project Cost: ₱100 million (Phase 1)

Target Date: CY 2019-2020

The Project will be situated within Sitio Puzo Robo, Barangay San Vicente, Sta. Ana, Cagayan. This area is at the northeastern portion of the Municipality along the Pacific Coast, containing an area of 238.48 hectares.

The key details of the Project to be included in the preliminary design are (a) Marina Yacht Club, (b) Beach Club & Commercial, (c) Casino & Entertainment, (d) Residential Resort Villas, (e) Medium Residential, (f) High-end Resorts, (g) Spa & Wellness Center, (h) Parks & Open Space, (i) Forest Reserve, (j) Roads and Utilities.

Joint Reg’l. Development Council and Reg’l. Peace & Order Council Meeting (Hosted by CEZA)

Date: 26 Feb 2019 (Tues)

Venue: Pulsar Buntun, Tuguegarao City

Background:

CEZA will host the 1st Regional Development Council Meeting of Region II for 2019. RDC is a regional body that has been established to be a forum where local efforts can be related and integrated with the regional and national development activities of the country. CEZA holds a seat in the Region’s 64-member RDC body. The Regional Peace and Order Council Meeting will also be conducted simultaneously.

Inauguration and Blessing of the New CEZA Tuguegarao Office

Date: 26 Feb 2019 (Tues)

Venue: CEZA Multi-Purpose Building and Training Center, Dalan na Pagayaya, Regional Government Center (Beside PDEA RO-2), Carig Sur, Tuguegarao City

Background:

A Multi-Purpose Building and Training Center is set to be inaugurated and blessed as part of CEZA’s week-long anniversary activities. The said establishment is already located at the regional government center and will function as CEZA’s office in Tuguegarao City, as well as a training center for its employees and the Labor and Employment Productivity Office (LEPO), a section established by this Authority in its commitment to reinforce its One-Stop-Action Center (OSAC).

Press Conference

Date: 26 Feb 2019 (Tues)

Venue: CEZA Multi-Purpose Building and Training Center

Background:

A press conference with Sec. Raul Lambino will be conducted. This will be the opportunity of the media representatives to ask any questions about the Anniversary activities and updates on the CEZA head’s plans, programs and accomplishments.
