President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Monday welcomed the members of Vietnam’s Ruling Communist Party in a courtesy call in Malacañang.
The Communist Party of Vietnam has been the only legal party in the southeast Asian country since 1988. Vietnam is one of the region’s fastest-growing economies and has envisioned to become a developed nation by 2020.
Present during the tete-a-tete with President Duterte were Commission on External Relations Chairman Hoang Binh Quan, Southeast Asia-Asia Pacific Affairs Director General Than Le Hoa, People to People Relations Director General Nguyen Thi Hong Van, Protocol’s Director General Nguyen Van Dzung, Deputy Director General Le Gia Kien, Southeast Asia-Asia Pacific Affairs Desk Officer Nguyen Tran Xuan Son, Ambassador of Vietnam to the Philippines Ly Quoc Tuan, and Second Secretary Nguyen Thai Giang.
Also in attendance were PDP-Laban Vice Chairman Secretary Alfonso Cusi, Vice President for International Affairs Secretary Raul Lambino, Spokesperson and Chairman of Public Committee Ronwald Munsayac, Deputy Secretary General Atty. Melvin Matibag, Provincial President PDP Bulacan Undersecretary Donato Marcos, Vice Chairman of Public Information Committee Undersecretary Raymundo Roquero, National Headquarters Executive Officer Ferdinand Brix Carpio, and Sen.
